Whether you're coming to Douglas for an individual massage or myofascial release treatment, a continuing education class or private consultation, you will be treated gently, with patience and understanding. He brings life experience, compassion and skill to his client sessions along with the ability to "listen deeply" to the body / mind / spirit; thus, he creates a healing space for all he works with. His primary modality is Myofascial Release Therapy, but he is also trained in other techniques including CranioSacral therapy, Therapeutic Touch, Reiki and Swedish Massage. He has also studied and used active listening, role play and visualization in personal growth groups and professional seminars as well as in his work with children, youth, and college students. For further information on myofascial release therapy, explore our Resources.
Myofascial Release Therapy has been Douglas' treatment specialty since 1999 when graduated from the Universal College of Healing Arts where he now teaches MFR classes. Altogether, he has over two hundred hours in MFR training plus hundreds of hours of consultation. He now facilitates several different Myofascial Release Therapy Seminars in locations around the Midwest.
Douglas has been a college English teacher all of his adult life, was also a home daycare provider and stay at home dad for 13 years, and has now devoted himself full time to massage and Myofascial Release Therapy as his "passion in life." Douglas came to massage therapy out of a need for deep healing in his life, which he now gladly shares with everyone he meets. He is married and has four grown children and six grandchildren.
He earned a Masters in English from Utah State University in 1969 and graduated from the Universal College of Healing Arts of Omaha, NE as a massage therapist in 1999. He is a licensed Massage Therapist in Nebraska, is certified by the NCBTMB nationally, and is a member of the International Massage Association. He now teaches massage and other classes at the Universal College of Healing Arts and Myofascial Release Therapy Seminars as CEU training for massage therapists throughout the Midwest. He has also developed a series of Massage and Wellness classes for the general public, taught through Metropolitan Community College Continuing Education in Omaha, NE.
Whether you need Myofascial Release Therapy, another form of massage therapy, or a class, contact Douglas to help you learn to become your own healer and "Remember Your Wholeness."
